If money has been taken from your bank account without permission, whether your identity has been stolen, your card cloned, there’s been an unrecognised bank transfer or you’ve been the victim of a scam, there are certain steps you should take. Contact your bank or card provider to alert them.
One way that they have used PayPal to illegally get money from people is by using a stolen account. They are able to do this by finding some way to get the credentials of an existing PayPal customer. Once they have these credentials, they then use the money that is in the accounts to buy an item online, preferably digital. When the sale is complete, they will take the goods and use it.
I had a checking account opened that is only for Paypal and eBay. The card with mastercard logo is only used with them to pay for monthly fee and to get PP account verified. I have never used the card anywhere else. The money I transfer from PP to my bank account is then transferred to another acco.

If reporting your dispute doesn’t work, you might be able to use chargeback if there’s no money in your PayPal account and you used your debit or credit card to pay through PayPal. Chargeback is when your card provider asks the seller's bank to refund the money to your account. If successful, you’ll get back the amount you paid by card.

Lost or stolen cards If your debit or credit card is lost or stolen, you can now report this and request a replacement through Internet Banking, or on the move using your Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking app. Simply log on and fill in our short form. We will cancel your old card and deliver a new one to you which will usually arrive within 3-5 days.
